Privacy Policy
Effective date: 9 October 2026
Black Flame Digital LTD ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in the QR Fire mobile application (the "App").
1. Information We Collect
The App works on your device and doesn't need an account. We collect limited information:
- Data stored on your device: your scan history (the content of the codes you scan or create, their type and format, and when they were saved), any labels, notes and favourites you add, and your settings (such as auto-save, vibration and theme). This stays on your device and is not sent to us.
- Camera: the App uses your camera only while the scanner is open, to read QR codes and barcodes. Camera images are processed on your device and are not saved or sent to us. On Android, scanning uses Google's ML Kit, which runs on your device. ML Kit may send Google diagnostic information such as how the scanner performs and basic device details, but not your camera images or the content of your codes. On iPhone, scanning uses Apple's on-device Vision framework.
- Photos: if you scan a code from a photo, you pick the photo in your device's photo picker. The App reads only that photo, on your device, to find the code. It does not store the photo or send it anywhere.
- Purchase data: if you buy Remove Ads, the App Store or Google Play processes the payment and tells the App that you own it. The App remembers this on your device. We never see your payment details.
- Advertising data: the free version shows banner ads from Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google may collect information such as your device's advertising identifier, IP address, approximate location derived from it, device and app information, and how you interact with ads. Where the law requires it, Google's consent form asks for your permission before ads use your data. Remove Ads removes ads.
- Support communications: if you email support, we receive your email address and the contents of your message.
The App only copies text to your clipboard when you tap a copy button, and it does not read your clipboard. It does not visit the links in the codes you scan. When you choose to open a link, call a number, send a message, add a contact or event, or open a map, the App hands that content to the relevant app on your device, and that app's privacy policy applies. Exports, such as a spreadsheet of your history or a QR code image, are shared only through your device's share sheet, to wherever you choose.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Scan codes and show what they contain.
- Save your scan history, labels, notes and favourites, and create QR codes.
- Confirm Remove Ads purchases and remove ads for users who bought it.
- Show ads in the free version and ask for ad consent where required.
- Respond to support emails.
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. Information is shared with these service providers, each of which handles it under its own privacy policy:
- Google AdMob to serve and measure ads in the free version and to collect ad consent. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
- Google ML Kit on Android, which may receive scanner diagnostics as described above. See ML Kit's terms and privacy information.
- Apple App Store and Google Play to process purchases.
4. Data Storage and Retention
- Scan history, labels, notes, favourites and settings are stored on your device until you delete them or uninstall the App. If backups are turned on for your device, your operating system may include them in your iCloud or Google backup.
- Purchase records are retained by the app stores as required for billing and compliance.
- Advertising data is retained by Google under its own policies.
- Support emails are kept as long as needed to resolve your request.
5. Your Choices
- You can delete individual scans or several at once in History, and remove all data stored by the App by uninstalling it.
- You can stop the App from saving scans by turning off Settings › Save scans to history.
- You can turn off camera access in your device settings at any time. You can still scan codes from photos.
- If you're in a region where ad consent is required, you can change your choice at any time in the App under Settings › Ad privacy choices.
- You can reset your advertising identifier or limit ad personalisation in your device settings (on iPhone under Privacy & Security, on Android under Google › Ads). Buying Remove Ads removes ads entirely.
6. Children
The App is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
7. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect data but cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. International Transfers
Our service providers may process data in other countries, including the United States, depending on their infrastructure.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll change the effective date above when we do, and continued use of the App means you accept the updated policy.
