The brief

PBE Comms began life in 2003 as PB Electrical Contractors, wiring commercial fit-outs. Over the following two decades the requests changed: more data cabling, more telecoms rollouts, less traditional electrical work. In 2026 the company completed the shift — PB Electrical Contractors became PBE Comms Ltd, and stopped carrying out electrical work altogether.

That makes the website more than a brochure. It has to do the repositioning: tell long-standing contacts what the company is now, and introduce it cold to enterprise buyers, main contractors, and IT resellers who have never heard the old name.

The details

The hardest decision was what to lead with. Twenty-three years of trading is the strongest thing PBE Comms has, but “we used to be electricians” is the weakest possible opening for a company selling enterprise infrastructure. So the homepage sells the capability — data, WiFi, security, critical power — and the heritage arrives a screen later as proof that the capability is old, not new.

The white label engineering page is the quiet commercial win. Plenty of IT resellers and integrators need certified engineers on site under their own brand, and almost nobody advertises for that work explicitly. Giving it its own page with its own search intent means the enquiries arrive pre-qualified instead of being explained on a call.

The site is built to hand over cleanly: a small Nuxt codebase, no CMS to license or maintain, and a contact form that authenticates against the client’s own mailbox — so nothing in the delivery chain depends on a subscription that could lapse.

The outcome

The site launched in July 2026 as the public face of the PBE Comms Ltd rebrand, with the full service range and a direct enquiry route in place from day one.
